I gravitate toward the smaller shows these days. Most larger shows are celebrity based, not a good place to show case my work, and can be very expensive to attend.
That was my experience a few years ago when I decided to get a table at Boston Fan Expo. (Formerly Boston Comic Con.)
It was an expensive table, and internet and electricity are extra, and on top of that I didn't even have an entire graphic novel to sell, so it was an expensive lesson on the business side of comics.
I've been building a fan base online, but I want to visit comic cons as an artist now that I have a book to share, and smaller comic cons are a good alternative.
