In the ongoing 5-page tale called "Eve of War", written by Noel Hannah, we now focus on the topic of colors. I usually work in CMYK, but I'm gradually transitioning to RGB as I share more of my workflow online. The main difference between the two is:
RGB is composed of only red, green, and blue, and surprisingly has a wider range of colors, unlike…
CMYK which is 4 basic colors, cyan, yellow, red, and black or K, used to make plates for a printing press.
Because my work is usually intended for print, I work in large CMYK files. But because my computer screen renders images backlight in RGB, I know what it will look like in both environments and can tweak where needed. Using a digital workflow, when converting my pages to PDF in Acrobat Pro, to post online or send to a printer, the conversation keeps the images true to my screen.
The roughs were exported as 300-450 dpi .tiff images from Clip Studio Paint. Then sent them to a flattener, and then I reimported the images to Photoshop to add my final colors.
The finished colors.
